About Pawsitively Trained Pets

Our Philosophy

Meet the Trainer

Our Philosophy

Every behavior serves a purpose. Our role as behavior focused trainers is not simply to change what a dog does, but to understand why they are doing it.

I believe that lasting behavior change begins with compassion, observation, and a deep understanding of canine behavior. Dogs are not giving us a hard time—they are often having a hard time. This is especially true for shelter and rescue dogs, many of whom enter our lives carrying histories we may never fully know.

Our approach is rooted in modern behavioral science and force-free training methods. Rather than relying on intimidation, punishment, or suppression, we focus on teaching skills, building confidence, and creating environments where dogs can make successful choices. By addressing the emotional state behind behavior, we can achieve meaningful and sustainable results.

Shelter dogs hold a special place in my work. These dogs often face unique challenges, including fear, anxiety, frustration, lack of socialization, or the stress of repeated transitions. I am committed to helping them navigate the human world with greater confidence while helping their families understand and support their individual needs.

Training is not about creating perfect dogs. It is about building communication, trust, and partnership between dogs and the people who care for them. Through enrichment, education, and behavior-focused training, my goal is to help every dog live a fuller, healthier life while empowering owners with the knowledge and skills needed to succeed together.

I believe that every dog deserves to be understood, every behavior deserves to be evaluated through a compassionate lens, and every relationship has the potential to grow stronger through trust.

Our Philosophy

Pawsitively Trained Pets was established in 2023, as a hobby / passion project turned LLC. We have worked in partnership with rescues such as Lady Luck Rescue, Palm Beach AC volunteers, Hospitality Helping Hands, and various other rescues passing through. We have worked with clients that have a variety of behaviors that often leave pet parents and fosters confused. We specialize in helping people better understand and communicate with their fluffy housemate.

Our Commitment

Meet the Trainer

Every dog deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive—regardless of their past. As a behavior-focused dog trainer specializing in rescue and shelter dogs, I am committed to providing compassionate, science-based training that prioritizes emotional well-being, trust, and lasting behavior change.

I believe behavior is communication. Rather than suppressing unwanted behaviors, I work to understand the underlying causes and develop individualized training plans that address each dog's unique needs. Through force-free, evidence-based methods, I help dogs build confidence, resilience, and the skills necessary to navigate the world successfully.

My commitment extends beyond the dog to the people who care for them. By educating and empowering owners, I strive to create strong, lasting relationships built on understanding, trust, and mutual respect. Whether a dog is overcoming fear, anxiety, reactivity, or simply adjusting to a new life after rescue, I am dedicated to helping them reach their full potential and become valued members of their families and communities.

Every training journey is guided by patience, empathy, and the belief that rehabilitation is possible when we meet dogs where they are and support them with kindness, consistency, and respect.

Meet Shane

I’m Shane, a certified dog trainer and the founder of Pawsitively Trained Pets.

My background is hands-on, not just certificates on a wall. I spent time as a full-time trainer in Big Dog Ranch Rescue’s service dog training program — work that demands a level of precision and reliability far beyond How I train: positive, science-based methods only — no shock, no prong, no fear. Every plan is built around your dog’s specific triggers and personality, never a one-size-fits-all script. And every program comes with a written guarantee, not just good intentions. Certifications VSA Academy, Dog emotion and cognition certificate, Pet CPR & First aid certified.
